The Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS)

Enhancing Discoverability for Oral History Collections

The oral history as primary resource represents a unique access challenge: it challenges our precious time. As much as we may love to spend hours listening to others' stories, the reality is that users need structured points of entry and access to time-based audiovisual media such as oral histories, in order to streamline their research and make the best use of their time. This workshop will introduce The Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS), a tool which makes it easy to create indexed points of entry to time-based materials in a way that enhances discoverability.
